Claressa Shields believes there are just three active male fighters that are willing to lock horns with ‘anybody’.
Shields is 17 fights into what has been an outstanding professional career to date, becoming the first female fighter in the history of the sport to win an undisputed world championship in three separate weight classes.
The 30-year-old from Michigan has campaigned from light-middleweight to heavyweight throughout the course of her tenure, racking up victories over the likes of Christina Hammer, Ema Kozin and Savannah Marshall to name just a few.
She currently reigns as the undisputed heavyweight champion, achieving this feat back in February of this year when she outpointed Danielle Perkins in her hometown of Flint.
Shields returned to the ring to make the first defence of her heavyweight titles in July, defeating Lani Daniels via unanimous decision at the conclusion of their ten round clash in Detroit.
Speaking on Million Dollaz Worth Of Game, Shields revealed the three active fighters that she believes would fight ‘anybody’, naming an unbeaten American trio of Terence Crawford, Shakur Stevenson and Devin Haney.
“There’s only a few men who I know will fight anybody, and people not gonna like this but that’s Shakur and that’s Terence Crawford, I don’t know about the rest of these men … Devin Haney fight anybody, he’d go to their country and fight them.”
Crawford and Stevenson both currently reign as world champions in their respective weight classes, with ‘Bud’ currently holding the undisputed super-middleweight championship and Stevenson holding the WBC lightweight title.
Former undisputed lightweight champion Haney is set to challenged for the WBO welterweight title next month against countryman Brian Norman, as he bids to become a three-weight world champion.
