Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano settled their long-running feud on Friday night.

They locked horns for the third and final time at the iconic Madison Square Garden in the heart of New York City, having shared the ring in in 2022 and 2024 respectively.

After another closely fought ten round contest, though less of a war than the previous two, it was Taylor who prevailed once again, defeating the Puerto Rican icon via majority decision to successfully defend her undisputed super-lightweight championship.

Some fans were left frustrated at the result, with many under the assumption that Serrano had done more than enough to be declared the winner over the Irish icon. However, a large portion of viewers saw the same as the judges.

In a social media post, three-division undisputed champion Claressa Shields shared her thoughts on the historic bout.

“Y’all gone call me a hater If I tell y’all who won…..”

Shields followed it up with a post saying, “Katie, Katie, Katie!” and later said the Irish star’s gameplan was ‘perfection.’

It remains to be seen what Taylor and Serrano’s next steps will be, with each boasting outstanding service to the sport over the years which has led to the duo winning multiple world championships.

At 39-years-old, Taylor has said she will take stock and make a decision on retirement after a career which began back in 2016 after she had won everything there is to be won on the amateur circuit, including one Olympic Gold Medal and five World Championship Gold Medals.
