The heavyweight showdown between Jospeh Parker and Fabio Wardley is fast approaching.

This fight will mark a big step up for Wardley. He has no amateur experience aside from a few white collar fights but has quickly risen through the ranks. The former British and Commonwealth champion has beaten the likes of Frazer Clarke by KO inside one round, and last time out stopped Justis Huni late in the contest to rescue a win when being behind on the scorecards.

Parker is a long time world ranked fighter and former WBO champion who has faced the likes of Dillian Whyte, Anthony Joshua, beaten Deontay Widler, Zhilei Zhang and Martin Bakole and is now in the hunt to become a two-time heavyweight champion.

Speaking to BoxNation, heavyweight contender and a former sparring partner of both men, Guido Vianello, had high praise for Parker and picked him for the win this weekend.

“Parker is my brother, I lived with him for two years in Vegas. I helped him for the Dubois fight. I think that Parker is the number two in the world now. I think Parker will win this fight. I’m with him. He’s fast, he’s strong, he has a lot of things.”

He was then pushed for a method of victory before laying out what Parker does well.

“Probably on points but if Joe is in the right mindset he can stop him too, yeah. The skills, Joe’s jab, jab right hook, jab straight right, fast hands, his combinations are great, his coach is great too, so they are making great prep too.”

A shot at undisputed ruler Oleksandr Usyk’s WBO world title awaits the winner in early 2026, so there is plenty on the line for both men.
