The mega-fight between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford is now just a few hours away.
Two of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the entire sport go head-to-head as Canelo defends his undisputed super-middleweight titles against Crawford at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, with the event broadcast live worldwide on Netflix.
The Mexican superstar is seen as the favourite heading into the bout, having never tasted defeat at 168lbs and only losing twice in total throughout his 67-fight career, to Floyd Mayweather at 154lbs in 2013 and to Dmitry Bivol at 175lbs in 2022.
Crawford has been an underdog before and come out on top though, most notably when he met Errol Spence in an undisputed welterweight title showdown in July 2023.
It produced arguably the best performance of Crawford’s career to date, as he dropped Spence multiple times on his way to a ninth round stoppage win to make him the holder of all four world titles at 147lbs.
Having stood toe-to-toe with Crawford, Spence has now made a final prediction for the clash against Canelo tonight, posting a definitive four-word message on social media.
“I’m going for Crawford.”
Victory for ‘Bud’ tonight would see him become the first male fighter in boxing history to become undisputed in three divisions, going alongside the aforementioned reign at welterweight along with his undisputed win at super-lightweight.
Canelo will be doing all he can to ensure that doesn’t happen though, and one of his sparring partners has predicted an eighth round knockout win for the Mexican icon this evening.
