Errol Spence Jr Sums Up Terence Crawford’s Chances Of Beating Canelo Perfectly In Just 5 Words

Terence Crawford vs Canelo Alvarez remains a mega-fight that could happen in the future.

Crawford has made it clear that he would be willing to jump up to super-middleweight for the fight, having become the WBA super-welterweight champion in his last bout.

‘Bud’ moved to 154lbs for that contest having become undisputed at welterweight in the fight prior, defeating long-time rival Errol Spence Jr in a dominant performance.

Many fans expected it to be a close affair heading into the clash, but ‘Bud’ outclassed his opponent on his way to a ninth round stoppage win.

Having experienced first hand what it is like to be in the ring with Crawford, Spence has now given his take on a potential battle with Canelo whilst speaking to Fight Hub TV saying ‘if anyone can, he can’.

Spence made it clear who he would be rooting for if the two did meet.

“It could happen, I mean why not? If Crawford wants to challenge himself to be great then let him try to be great you know, so I’m with it.

I’ll be going for ‘Bud’ if he fights Canelo, I’ll be going for him. I don’t know if he’s going to win or lose but I’ll definitely be going for Crawford. I think if anybody can pull it off he can pull it off.

He’s chasing greatness so why not. Canelo went up to 175 and fought Kovalev and fought the other guy [Bivol] too, so if he can do it, and he started at 147, so if he doing then why can’t ‘Bud’ do it.”

Spence isn’t the only man to give his take on the fight, with top trainer Robert Garcia needing just three words to sum up Crawford’s chances.
