Shakur Stevenson Sets His Sights On One Man After Teofimo Lopez: “You Down?”

Three-weight world champion Shakur Stevenson is targeting a showdown with one man in particular after he locks horns with Teofimo Lopez.

The unbeaten 28-year-old from Newark is set to make the move up to super-lightweight to challenge WBO world champion Lopez in the first quarter of 2026.

Stevenson was last in action back in July when he extended his unbeaten record to 24-0 with a comprehensive unanimous decision victory over previously unbeaten Mexican contender William Zepeda at the Louis Armstrong Stadium in New York City.

His impending clash with Lopez looks to be on the verge of being finalised, with an official fight date and venue set to be confirmed within a matter of weeks.

Speaking on social media recently, Stevenson appeared to an express an interest in facing countryman Ryan Garcia after his upcoming meeting with Lopez.

“Final showdown? Actually I like this winner face bum ass Ryan. @RyanGarcia u down?”

Former WBC interim lightweight champion Garcia is currently preparing to make his return to the ring, with rumours circulating about a potential match-up with reigning WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios.

The 27-year-old from California has been out of action since he was defeated by newly-crowned WBA welterweight champion Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero in May at Times Square in New York, suffering the second defeat of his professional career in the process.

Garcia’s promoter Oscar De La Hoya confirmed recently that they are in the process of making a fight between ‘King Ry’ and Barrios, although an official announcement is yet to be made.
