It had been rumoured for some time but, following the Hughie Fury vs Alexander Povetkin fight at the O2, Eddie Hearn announced that he would be returning to the venue for a megashow on October 26, headlined by the World Boxing Super Series super-lightweight final between IBF champion Josh taylor – who joined the promoter in the ring – and WBA king Regis Prograis.
Joining that mouthwatering clash on what will presumably be a Sky Sports Box Office show, enigmatic but entertaining heavyweight veteran Dereck Chisora takes on ex-WBO champion Joseph Parker, while former IBF feather boss Lee Selby, now campaigning up at lightweight, wages war with Scotland’s only three-weight world champion, Ricky Burns.
Rounding off the confirmed fights, British and Commonwealth cruiserweight titlist Lawrence Okolie will challenge for the European crown, presumably against current incumbent Yves Ngabu, a Belgian who trains in Sheffield under Dominic Ingle.
