Teddy Atlas Didn’t Hesitate When Asked If Jake Paul vs Julio Cesar Chavez Jr Was Scripted

Jake Paul made his return to the ring last month.

The 28-year-old from Cleveland, Ohio defeated Mexico’s former WBC world middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr on Saturday June 28 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.

‘The Problem Child’ took control of the fight from the opening bell, facing little-to-no threat from Chavez who has received heavy criticism for what was an extremely underwhelming performance.

Chavez didn’t appear to switch on until the last couple of rounds of the bout, which last left some fans wondering whether there had been an agreement of some sort in place between the fighters.

Speaking on his Youtube channel THE FIGHT, legendary analyst and trainer Teddy Atlas shared his thoughts on the controversial match-up between Paul and Chavez, but said he doubted any agreement existed between the two.

“It’s going to make some people start to think ‘Hey, was there a deal there? Yeah, some people will think that, They say ‘Wait a minute’.

I don’t think that Jake Paul would do that, I don’t, I really don’t.”

After getting the better of Chavez, Paul has now set his sights on moving towards a potential world title shot in the near future, although it remains to be seen whether the 28-year-old will be granted his wish.

‘The Problem Child’ has already made call-outs to WBA and WBO cruiserweight champion Gilberto Ramirez, as well as reigning WBC cruiserweight champion Badou Jack.
