Terence Crawford is preparing to face Saul ‘Canelo‘ Alvarez in a mega-fight later this year.
The 37-year-old from Omaha, Nebraska has enjoyed a glittering boxing career to date, where he has won world title across four weight classes as well as the undisputed championship at super lightweight and welterweight respectively.
It was revealed earlier this year that ‘Bud’ had agreed to face Canelo in September of this year, as he bids to become a five division world champion against the Mexican icon who currently holds the unified WBC, WBA and WBO super middleweight titles.
The American superstar appears to have now entered the final chapter of his incredible tenure, although it remains to be seen whether he will hang up the gloves or not after he faces Canelo in September. One man who has opened up about this situation is Crawford’s trainer Brian ‘BoMac’ McIntyre.
In an interview with Boxing Scene, ‘BoMac’ revealed that this could indeed be the last time that fans see his charge inside the boxing ring.
“Listen, man, we’re going to win. We’re going to win. We’re going to win … F**k yeah. It probably could [be the last one]. It probably could. Yeah. Probably could.”
An official announcement on Crawford’s showdown against Canelo is yet be made, as the Mexican icon is currently gearing up to face IBF super middleweight champion William Scull in Riyadh on May 3, in what is an opportunity to become a two-time undisputed champion for the man from Guadalajara.
