Three-weight undisputed great Terence Crawford has been speaking to Conor Benn about what he must do to beat Chris Eubank Jr in their rematch.

Benn came out aggressively at the start of their fight and threw plenty of big shots with mean intent. Eventually, Eubank Jr got a foothold and ran out the unanimous points winner after 12 rounds following more than two years of heated buildup, controversy and egg slaps.

He went into the contest as the natural middleweight, which is two classes above where Benn usually plies his trade. The same conditions will be in place the second time around, and again Eubank will be hampered by a 10lb rehydration class on the morning of the fight.

Crawford actually shares a coach with Eubank Jr but in a moment caught on camera by Boxing News, ‘Bud’ name the two things Benn must improve to beat Eubank Jr in November.

“That’s what was f**king you up, pulling out. Get in more shape, you got a little tired. You hurt him, you was just too tired to, you know. You gotta stop pulling out.”

It’s a fair observation that Benn tired as the fight progressed. It was his first serious fight in a couple of years, following inactivity whilst trying to clear his name after the failed drug test. He is also the naturally smaller man so has extra work to do to keep up with Eubank, who is also more experienced.

Benn will be hoping to put these lessons into practice when the pair meet again in November.
