Carl Froch has often has run-ins with people in and around boxing, and American star Jake Paul is the latest.
Froch is a former super-middleweight world champion who isn’t afraid to speak his mind on his own YouTube channel, Froch on Fighting. In the past, he has come to verbal blows with John Fury, the father of the former world heavyweight champion Tyson, as well as Anthony Joshua and his promoter Eddie Hearn.
Recently he has taken umbrage with Jake Paul being called a boxer and has had plenty to say about his choice of opponents, particularly his recent win over the 58-year-old Mike Tyson back.
Paul was criticised for bringing the almost sixty year old back into the sport following his retirement all the way back in 2005. It was an underwhelming contest over eight two-minute rounds in which ‘Iron’ Mike was unable to impose himself. Paul coasted to a unanimous decision victory.
His feud with Froch has escalated in the aftermath, with both men trading shots via the media. Froch maintains that he could knock the YouTuber-turned-fighter out with one hand tied behind his back.
In a new video on his own channel, ‘The Cobra’ met former undisputed welterweight king and pound-for-pound superstar Terence Crawford and asked who would win a fight between him and Paul.
“Froch.”
Crawford elaborated, praising Paul but siding with the men who has been retired for a decade.
“Jake Paul has gotten better with his boxing skills. I respect him, everything he has done to now, but you’re too experienced, and you’re a real fighter, not some fighter who is short and underweight.”
