One of the sport’s top pound-for-pound stars finds himself looking for his next challenge.

Terence Crawford is a former undisputed super-lightweight champion who last summer repeated the feat up at welterweight.

He did so by dismantling the highly rated Errol Spence Jr and then took more than a year out of the ring.

He returned in August, up at the new weight of 154lbs, and immediately challenged Israil Madrimov for his world title.

Crawford won a close fight on points to add the WBA junior middleweight belt to his collection and has since been linked with plenty of fights.

They include young welterweight ruler Jaron Ennis, and also unified super middleweight king Canelo Alvarez, which means Crawford has been left to decide which weight class he most wants to compete in.

Of his latest fight with Madrimov, Crawford told Ring Magazine he didn’t notice the difference in weight all that much.

“To be 100 percent honest with you, I didn’t feel no difference between 147 and 154.”

Despite that, Crawford was unable to stop his opponent and some think the new was the reason for that.

One thing ‘Bud’ now admits he is sure about is that he will no longer being going back down to welterweight to fight.

“Will I fight again at 147? Never. I’m never going back down there. I actually felt stronger. I didn’t have to kill my body with plastics (sweat suits) to make weight. I know what people say about moving up, but I don’t put any limits on myself. I believe my skill and technique will take me to the next level.’’

Should he feel able to move up, then ‘Canelo’ presents the biggest challenge, although a unification at 154 with WBC and WBO belt holder Sebastian Fundora is also an enticing prospect for the Nebraska man.
