The winner of the upcoming undisputed light-heavyweight fight between Dmitry Bivol and Artur Beterbiev has a strong case as one of the very best pound-for-pound fighters in the world.
Both men have proved their worth in the 175lbs ranks, beating all comers in style – Beterbiev the monster puncher with skills to back it up and Bivol the composed and technical master with some of the best footwork in the sport.
It’s a match-up that your favourite fighter will be excited for, and the man who many consider to be the best in the world, Terence Crawford, has now made his prediction.
Speaking on an Instagram live session, the four-weight world champion backed Bivol.
“I think the best man’s gonna win. The one that executes their game plan the best will win in that fight. If I had to pick one I’d pick Bivol because of his boxing skills, his movement, and just his will to keep a fighter at the distance that he needs. I think that’s one thing that’s gonna carry him to victory.
Beterbiev, he’s strong, he gonna be coming to fight, but I think Bivol’s jab is gonna stop all that forcefully coming straight forward.”
Fans will be keen to see how the 39-year-old’s body holds up after his recovery against the younger and more active Bivol, who is attempting to become the first man not only to beat his fellow champion, but to even hear the final bell.
