Three Weight World Champion ‘Definitely’ Wants Oleksandr Usyk Fight: “We Spoke About It”

Oleksandr Usyk has said he only has a couple of fights left but there are many more boxers who want to challenge him.

Usyk is a generational great who has accomplished more than most fighters could dream of. The former Olympic Gold medalist went on to clear out the cruiserweight division by 2018 and then in 2024 he completed the heavyweight division by beating WBC champion Tyson Fury to become undisputed.

He repeated the feat in a rematch back in October and has also twice beaten Anthony Joshua, knocked out Daniel Dubois and out-pointed Derek Chisora.

Right now, Usyk favours a rematch with Dubois, the current IBF king, so he can attempt to become a two-time undisputed champion, which is not something that has ever done before in the four-belt era, but standing in his way is mandatory challenger Joseph Parker.

However, speaking on Sky Sports Boxing, former super-middleweight, light-heavyweight and cruiserweight champion Badou Jack has also revealed he would like to take on Usyk were he to chase honours in a fourth weight class.

“Definitely, he’s the best pound-for-pound, he’s an amazing fighter, we fought in the amateurs many years ago, that would be a perfect fight for me at heavyweight if I ever go to heavyweight.

“We were actually talking about it two or three years ago but it never happened. That could be in the future but right now I have at least two or three more tough fights before that.”

Jack, who is now 41, hasn’t fought since February 2023 when he defeated Ilunga Makabu to lift the WBC cruiserweight title. He returns on the undercard of Canelo Alvarez vs William Scull on May 3 against Noel Mikaelian.
