Keith Thurman has sent a scathing message to a former super-welterweight world champion where he vows to end his professional career.

‘One Time’ started his journey towards becoming a two-weight world champion back in March when he made his long-awaited return to the ring, stopping Australia’s Brock Jarvis in the third round of their 154lbs bout in Sydney.

Thurman had been out of the ring for three years prior to his bout against Jarvis, with his last appearance coming against reigning WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios in February of 2022.

The 36-year-old from Florida had held the unified WBC and WBA world welterweight titles before he was forced to vacate the WBC crown due to inactivity. He was eventually dethroned of his WBA title by Manny Pacquiao in the summer of 2019.

Speaking to The Punch Podcast, Thurman vowed to end the career of former WBO super-welterweight champion Tim Tszyu, just moments after the Australian suffered a crushing defeat to Sebastian Fundora.

“He just thinks he’s the s**t. He believed that boxing in the real world outside of Australia, the real world of boxing, the plethora of talent and skills and opposition was just something that he was gonna fly over here and handle like myself, you take me over to the Gold Coast I will end Tim Tszyu’s career, if that’s what y’all wanna see, pay me and I’ll do it, I’ll get rid of Tszyu.”

Thurman is expected to campaign at 154lbs from now on, although his next ring appearance is yet to be confirmed. The 36-year-old is expected to make a return before the end of the year however, as he looks to make up for lost time and push towards becoming a world champion in a second weight class.
