Tim Bradley Has No Doubt Who Wins Gervonta Davis vs Lamont Roach Rematch: “I Promise You That”

Two-weight world champion Timothy Bradley has weighed in on the expected rematch between Gervonta Davis and Lamont Roach Jr.

The lightweight rivals look set to lock horns once again before the end of the year, although an official announcement on the date and location is yet to be made.

Davis retained his WBA world lightweight title against Roach on March 1, although the fight was declared a majority decision draw after a very competitive twelve round contest at the Barclays Center in New York City.

Roach actually forced ‘Tank’ to take a knee to the canvas during the ninth round after hitting him with a stiff jab, although referee Steve Willis failed to rule this as an official knockdown to effectively squander the challengers chances of handing Davis the first defeat of his career.

Whilst discussing Shakur Stevenson’s recent performance against William Zepeda, fighter-turned-analyst Bradley spoke on his Youtube channel where he plays down Davis’ chances of defeating Roach in the rematch.

“Now everybody wanna bring up ‘He can’t beat Tank’, Tank can’t even catch a Roach, he can’t even beat a Roach or kill a Roach, y’all talking about Shakur and Shakur can’t beat no Tank, y’all tripping, Tank need to worry about Roach, that’s what he need to worry about.

Roach ain’t playing with Tank, he don’t give a damn about Tank’s power, he’s coming to get Tank and it’s going to be worse this time, I promise you. It’s going to be worse [for Tank] this time, there’s been a lot going on.”

The second encounter between Davis and Roach had initially been pencilled in to take place on Saturday August 16 in Las Vegas, although this now seems highly unlikely after ‘Tank’ was recently arrested on a domestic violence charge.
