Jake Paul is adamant that he will become a world champion in the sport of boxing.

The brash American star has built a record of 11-1 so far, fighting mainly retired UFC fighters but most recently defeating a 58-year-old Mike Tyson over eight rounds.

He holds himself in high regard and believes he will one day fight and beat Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez despite the Mexican being at least three weight classes below him.

In the mean time, world champions including Artur Beterbiev and Daniel Dubois have called Paul out in the wake of the Tyson fight. Though he won’t take those fights, many expect to manoeuvre himself into some form of shot at a belt at one point.

Hall of Fame fighter Tim Bradley, speaking on his YouTube channel, doesn’t give the 27-year-old any hope.

“It’s laughable.”

Bradley – who called Paul a ‘fraud’ for his own efforts in the ring but praised his work with the female side of the sport – believes he needs a reality check.

“As far as what he’s raving about, that he wants to become a champion, that he wants to be the face of boxing and all this stuff. Dude, stop.”

When discussing Paul’s latest performance against Tyson in a seperate video, Bradley was unsurprisingly unimpressed.

“Just the watched the Jake Paul-Mike Tyson fight. Told you. Jake Paul is a bum. I tried to tell you guys. Straight up con artist. He’s a magician. He’s going straight to the bank.

Mike Tyson’s the one who sold this fight. I told y’all, 58-years-old, all that wear and tear on his body. He’s a senior citizen basically. He didn’t do anything to Jake Paul. Probably landed one or two punches all night, if any. It’s terrible, man.”

Finally, the two-weight world champion, who starred in a trilogy with Manny Pacquiao, told Paul to put his money where his mouth is.

“Jake Paul, come on, fight a real fighter, bro. You want to get respect in the game or you just want to milk it like you’re doing right now, just picking the best names? If you want respect from the boxing fans and the boxing community you gotta fight a real fighter.

Tommy Fury got in your ass. Rematch that guy. Make that wrong right and then step up and face somebody else. You can’t beat anybody in the top 15. It don’t matter what sanctioning body, you can’t beat them. So stop fooling the public. Stop fooling yourself. Take on a real challenge and stop picking on the old heads in the game, man.”

The YouTuber-turner-fighter hasn’t yet announced his next move, though there’s no doubt that there will be plenty of eyeballs on him when he does.
