Hall of Famer Timothy Bradley Jr has shared his thoughts on the upcoming clash between Teofimo Lopez and Shakur Stevenson.
Lopez is set to make the fourth defence of his WBO super-lightweight title against Stevenson at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Saturday January 31.
‘The Takeover’ has been out of action since he outpointed countryman Arnold Barboza Jr at the iconic Times Square in New York back in May of 2025.
As for Stevenson, the 28-year-old from Newark produced arguably the best victory of his career to date on July 12 when he defeated Mexico’s William Zepeda to defend his WBC lightweight crown for the third time.
Speaking on his own Youtube channel, Tim Bradley made no mistake in backing Stevenson to defeat Lopez when they lock horns later this month.
“Now you’re going to fight another G.O.A.T of another generation, of this generation? That’s going to be a problem my big dog. I’m letting you know and your fans know too, that’s going to be a problem because Teofimo Lopez, you’re not beating Shakur Stevenson, you’re not. I know your habits, he knows your habits, he sees already how to beat you, he knows already how to beat you.”
Whilst he goes into his showdown with Lopez as the favourite, Stevenson will be well aware that he is tasked with what could be the toughest test of his professional career as he sets his sights on becoming a world champion in a fourth weight class.
