Tim Bradley has shared his verdict on how the Manny Pacquiao vs. Mario Barrios fight played out.
Last Saturday saw the Filipino boxing legend make his return to the sport at the age of 46, as he challenged Barrios for his WBC welterweight title at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
It was Pacquiao’s first professional bout since August 2021, when he lost by unanimous decision against Yordenis Ugas, with his last victory not actually coming since he defeated Keith Thurman in July 2019.
With that in mind, many onlookers were concerned for Pacquiao heading into his fight with Barrios, but he appeared to prove a lot of his doubters wrong by competing with his rival and going the full 12-round distance.
One man who seemingly wasn’t impressed though was former two-weight world champion Tim Bradley, who fought Pacquiao on three occasions over a four-year period, controversially winning one and losing the other two.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Bradley had heavy criticism for how the fight played out.
“It wasn’t even a fight, it was a bona fide sparring session, that’s what it was. I would love to see both of these guys contracts.”
He then gave his verdict on how he scored the fight, after the judges scored it 115-113 Barrios, and 114-114 twice to make it a majority draw.
“The fight was a draw. I don’t think either of these guys deserved the win. Barrios is the champion still but he’s not going to have that belt for very long. A lot of people are complaining about the judges, the judging was spot on. The best judges in boxing. If I scored it, I would have scored it for Barrios, but the draw was perfect.”
Another man to share his thoughts on the fight is legendary analyst Teddy Atlas, who revealed his scorecard after re-watching the bout.
