Hall of Famer Tim Bradley has shared his thoughts on the impending clash between Jaron Ennis and Vergil Ortiz.
It is being reported that the American duo will lock horns during the early stages of 2026, with both fighters set to put their unbeaten records at stake in one of the most intriguing match-ups in the sport.
‘Boots’ Ennis made his super-welterweight debut in emphatic fashion last weekend as he stopped Portugal’s Uisma Lima in the opening round of their showdown in Philadelphia, capturing the vacant WBA interim world title in the process.
Ortiz is set to make the second defence of his WBC interim super-welterweight title next month as he gears up to face countryman Erickson Lubin at the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth on Saturday November 8.
Speaking on his own YouTube channel, two-weight world champion Tim Bradley made no mistake in backing ‘Boots’ to defeat Ortiz when they inevitably clash, as he urges the latter to ‘take care of business’ when he faces Lubin next month.
“Vergil Ortiz can’t beat no Boots Ennis! I promise you! Vergil Ortiz ain’t beating no Boots, when y’all gonna listen? Oh imma put my money where my mouth is. Go ahead Vergil, get past Lubin, make sure you take care of business, yeah the next fight is gonna be against Boots Ennis.”
Ennis has received praise for his outstanding performance against Lima, with promoter Eddie Hearn claiming that the 28-year-old is capable of defeating any opponent from 154 to 168lbs in a shock statement.
