Tim Tszyu Shares Emotional Reaction To Devastating Knockout Loss: “What Just Happened?”

Tim Tszyu has suffered a huge setback in his boxing career.

He lost in his IBF super-welterweight title fight to Bakhram Murtazaliev, after a one-sided affair which saw Tszyu knocked down six times in a third round stoppage defeat.

It is a crushing defeat for Tszyu, as he looked to rebuild and once again become world champion after losing in his WBO and WBC title fight to Sebastian Fundora back in March.

The two straight losses now means Tszyu has a mountain to climb to get his career back on track, and he was extremely emotional when discussing the defeat to Murtazaliev with Fighthype after the bout.

“What the f*ck just happened. What did I get hit with? I couldn’t regroup. I don’t know man. Sh*t doesn’t go your way. You just have to bounce back.

“I was positive after Fundora. But I’ve got to find more answers to this one. This didn’t go according to script. It was a little bit different, I felt unbelievable and had great prep. He got me and was the better man on this night, we live and we learn.”

Tszyu was 24-0 heading into the start of the year, but will now have to go back to the drawing board after the defeats to Fundora and Murtazaliev.

As for Murtazaliev, he has now extended his unbeaten record to 23-0, having first become world champion in April when he knocked out Jack Culcay for the vacant IBF belt.

Terence Crawford is the current WBA champion in the 154lb division, and he has given a brutal verdict on Tszyu’s defeat.
