Tommy Fury Reacts To Jake Paul’s Performance Against Anthony Joshua

Tommy Fury has shared his thoughts on former rival Jake Paul’s recent performance against Anthony Joshua.

Paul was stopped in the 6th round of his controversial heavyweight showdown with Joshua at the Kaseya Center in Miami last month, suffering the 2nd defeat of his career in the process.

Two-time world heavyweight champion ‘AJ’ floored Paul on multiple occasions before closing the show with a thunderous straight right hand, leaving the 28-year-old American requiring surgery on a double broken jaw.

Fury became the first man to defeat ‘The Problem Child’ when they clashed at the Diriyah Arena in Saudi Arabia several years ago, defeating him via majority decision at the conclusion of their cruiserweight bout.

Speaking to iFL TV, Fury shared his thoughts on the controversial match-up between his former rival and Joshua, recognising that Paul did all he can to avoid engaging with the hard-hitting ‘AJ’.

“Listen, it’s all money isn’t it? Money and s–t and whatever like that. It’s like me fighting Usyk or something like, it’s just bollocks isn’t it? You know, that’s all it was. It’s just grabbing people’s attention, it sells and that’s it. As a boxing term, you cant really look into it at all because one man just literally looked like he was on an athletics track running round and round and round, and AJ well he didn’t even really break a sweat did he? So just a load of s–t to be honest.”

Paul is expected to take some time away from the sport to recover from his injuries, although the 28-year-old from Ohio is expected to make a return to action before the end of the year. Fury says he is open to a rematch, but won’t be ‘chasing’ it.
