James Toney Didn’t Hesitate When Asked If Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul Was Scripted: “I Knew Right Then”

Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul divided the sport of boxing nearly a month ago.

The controversial match-up took place at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, in front of a packed crowd that were hoping to see the Tyson of old.

Despite a series of training clips in the build-up to the fight that showed Tyson displaying his trademark ferocious speed, it wasn’t present in the contest, as he looked every bit of his 58-years-old.

Paul was able to claim a unanimous decision victory after eight two-minute rounds, but there have been plenty of theories about how the bout unfolded.

One of them has come from three-weight world champion James Toney, who told Wise Nuts that he does believe the fight was indeed scripted.

“They had some kind of deal. [I knew] as soon as he came in the ring. F**k Jake Paul, he sucks, he’s garbage. He’s destroying the sport of boxing. I love boxing, it’s my world. I love Mike, but he disrespected the sport by doing what they did.”

Toney then stated that if he was to fight Paul, he wouldn’t follow a script.

“It would be a real fight and I’d knock him out. I’m not f**king up my legacy for money. I worked hard for that. Jake Paul is playing Russian Roulette, and one of these days it might be me.”

Now that the dust has began to settle from the fight between Tyson and Paul, ‘Iron Mike’ has now revealed exactly how he felt during the bout.
