A heavyweight with insight into both Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul has given his views on their upcoming fight.
This is a contest that no one really believed would happen for several reasons. Joshua is a former two-time unified champion in the banner division. He has huge power, has knocked out the lies of Dillian Whyte, Kubrat Pulev and Wladimir Klitschko and, though he is 36, has had a good rest since his KO loss to Daniel Dubois last September.
Paul, meanwhile, has had just 13 fights, only one against a legitimate boxer of a similar age in Tommy Fury, and he lost that on the cards. He has also shared the ring with the likes of Mike Tyson and Nate Diaz.
Speaking on Pro Boxing Fans, David Adeleye, who has sparred Joshua and seen Paul up close in the gym, gave his view on the contest.
“I was in the gym with him. Good fight, good fight, you know I’m the worst person, I always give political answers, I sit back. But listen, Jake Paul knows why he asked for ‘AJ.’ We’ll see what happens.
“Jake is a leaner, he wants to listen, he asks questions, he digs deep, whatever is asked of him, he tries to provide. Everyone calls him a YouTuber, but this is a man with a lot of money. He pays for the best trainers, nutritionists, chefs, S&C coaches; he’s a full-time athlete now.”
