One of Britain’s most celebrated former world champions has predicted that Jake Paul can shock the world with an epic upset victory over Anthony Joshua this weekend.

Very few people outside Paul’s own family and close circle are seeing any way that a 13-fight professional can secure a win over a former two-time world heavyweight champion.

Joshua has been involved in 32 contests and has faced many different styles. He has come through adversity, been knocked down and secured many of his own big one-punch victories.

He also has considerable experience, whereas Paul has largely been involved with much older fighters or those who have crossed over from MMA and are used to a whole different set of rules.

Speaking to The Sun Sport, however, former cruiserweight and heavyweight world champion David Haye has decided he can see a way that Paul wins this fight.

“It seems so one-sided. It seems every single benefit outside the psychological side of ‘AJ’ taking it likely, I think something dramatic is going to happen. If ‘AJ’s Achilles snaps in the first round, what happens? If his shoulder gets dislocated, what happens?

“He’s got a new coach, so throwing punches from new angles, something could happen. I think somehow, I don’t know how it’s going to happen, but I think it’s going to be the biggest upset in sporting history. A no contest, a cut, a big clash of heads or something is going to happen.”

Were Paul to pull this off, it would indeed be a generational shock that would surely end Joshua’s career and mean it could instead be he who goes on to fight for a world title or get involved in an epic showdown with the likes of Tyson Fury.
