Jake Paul continues to pursue a shot at a world title.

The 27-year-old from Cleveland, Ohio has had a rollercoaster professional career ever since he made his debut back in 2020. Paul has received criticism from a number of prominent figures in the sport for his choice of opponents, having spent the majority of his tenure facing retired MMA stars including the likes of Anderson Silva and Nate Diaz.

Despite this, ‘The Problem Child’ remains set on pushing towards becoming a legitimate world champion at some point in the near future. Paul’s most recent ring appearance came against heavyweight legend ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson, outpointing the 58-year-old in their controversial 8-round bout at the AT&T Stadium in Texas last November to claim his eleventh career win.

In a sensational admission made by two-weight world champion Gilberto Ramirez, the wishes of Paul could become a reality very soon, with the 33-year-old reportedly willing to put his world cruiserweight championship on the line against the former YouTube star.

Speaking to ES News, ‘Zurdo’ confirmed he is open to the idea of facing Paul, claiming it would be ‘easy money’ for the Mexican star.

“F**k yeah, why not? Who cares? Easy money. Knock him out, four rounds. Give some entertainment to the people.”

After a successful campaign at super middleweight where he held the WBO title for 3 years, Ramirez made the move up to cruiserweight – after a brief light-heavyweight stint when he suffered his sole loss to Dmitry Bivol – and now holds the WBA and WBO titles.

The 33-year-old from Mazatlan, Mexico outpointed Britain’s Chris Billam-Smith in November to add the WBO crown to his collection and move a step closer to a showdown with IBF champion Jai Opetaia.
