Moses Itauma is struggling to find his next opponent, but a two-weight world champion is ready to step up.

Itauma is one of the hottest prospects in the game right now. He is just 20-years-old and though he has fallen short of his aim to become the youngest ever heavyweight world champion by beating Mike Tyson’s long-held record, he is still making impressive moves.

An impressive 11 of his 13 wins have come by way of knockout, nine inside the first two rounds, and the last one came against his best opponent yet in Dillian Whyte, which was ended inside the first two minutes with another fine knockout.

Itauma is set to return to the ring in December, but as of yet no opponent has been finalised, but a British rival insists he is ready to step up and take on his countryman.

Speaking to iFL TV, former cruiserweight and bridgerweight strap holder Lawrence Okolie admitted he is a fan but is also willing to fight the young rising star.

“Absolutely, yeah. Yeah, next. He’s one of the only boxers I can say I’m a fan of, maybe cause he’s young or whatever else. However, if there’s a time to fight him it’s before he gets too much experience.

“So Dillian Whyte, OK cool, but if he beats a Parker, by the time you get to fight him, he’s a seasoned pro. The guy’s 13 and 0, great KO power, great everything, whatever, but maybe someone can old man him and it’s time now.”

Okolie isn’t the only big name to be linked with Itauma, as while both Daniel Dubois and Filip Hrgovic have apparently ruled themselves out of a fight in December, 42-year-old Zhieli Zhang recently said he would be up for taking on the challenge.
