Mike Tyson And Teddy Atlas Disagree On The Greatest Fighter Of All Time

There is always plenty of debate within the boxing world about who is the greatest of all time and Mike Tyson and Teddy Atlas are two big names that have differing opinions.

Atlas worked with Tyson during the early stages of his career, as ‘Iron Mike’ went on to become the youngest world heavyweight champion in history.

During his prime, some boxing fans may feel that Tyson has an argument as being one of the greatest ever, but the heavyweight legend has named who he deems to be the best, as he told Ring that he views Sugar Ray Robinson as the number one.

“If he wasn’t the greatest fighter that ever lived, then he’s the greatest imitation of it.”

Robinson had an incredible career, which saw him hold the world welterweight for five years, before then claiming world middleweight honours on multiple occasions.

At one stage his record stood at 129 wins, 1 loss and 2 draws, going on a 91-fight unbeaten streak in the process. He ended his career with 174 victories from 201 fights, 109 wins coming by knockout.

Despite all of that success, Atlas disagrees with Tyson and only sees Robinson as the second best fighter of all time, as he feels that Henry Armstrong is the greatest ever.

Armstrong is the only fighter to ever hold world championships in three divisions simultaneously, having done so at featherweight, lightweight and welterweight.

Just like Robinson, he had over a century of wins to his name by the end of his career, as he finished with 151 wins from 183 fights, 100 of those victories coming by knockout.
