Legendary heavyweight duo George Foreman and Mike Tyson believe there is one fighter even greater than Muhammad Ali.

Known more commonly by his moniker ‘The Greatest’, Ali is widely considered to be one of, if not the greatest fighter to have ever laced up a pair of boxing gloves.

He became a world heavyweight champion on several occasions throughout the course of his storied professional career, producing legacy-defining wins over the likes of Sonny Liston, Joe Frazier and George Foreman.

It appears that not everyone is quite as impressed with the credentials of Ali however, as ‘Iron Mike’ Tyson names Sugar Ray Robinson as the ‘greatest fighter ever’ in a resurfaced interview.

“Sugar Ray Robinson was the greatest fighter that ever lived.”

This is an opinion that is shared with Ali’s former rival George Foreman, who also once claimed that he believed Robinson was the best fighter to have ever graced the sport.

“There’s no doubt about it. Sugar Ray Robinson was the best I ever saw.”

Robinson’s outstanding legacy speaks for itself and is still widely discussed within the boxing community to this very day. The Georgia-native fought on no less than 201 occasions during his tenure which spanned between 1940 and 1965.

He held the world welterweight championship for half a decade between 1946 and 1951 before he eventually made the move up to middleweight where he became the world champion on five occasions within a nine year period.
