Artur Beterbiev‘s undisputed contest with Dmitry Bivol was a close fought battle in early October.

It was Beterbiev who came out on top to claim all the belts after plenty of tight rounds in which Bivol seemed to be pulling away early on, only for the man who, until that fight, had a 100% knockout ratio, applied more pressure to take the later rounds.

Although many thought Bivol had done enough to get his hand raised, when speaking to BoxNation, former WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury thought the right man won.

“I had it the same as [judge] Glenn Feldman, 115-112 to Beterbiev but again that’s just opinion isn’t it.

“[My brother] Shane had it a draw. Bob Howard had it a draw. Another cousin of mine had Bivol winning it by four rounds. It’s pretty much similar to my fight with Usyk wasn’t it.

“Here’s the thing, I see this fight with Bivol and Beterbiev and I see all these robbery claims online yet my fight with Usyk was closer on the cards and I don’t see any robbery claims, why is that?”

Bivol’s promoter Eddie Hearn was furious when the official scores of 114-114, 115-113, 116-112 were announced, claiming Pawel Kardyni who scored it 116-112 to Beterbiev ‘should never work in the sport again’.

After the fight all talk turned to an immediate rematch, however according to Beterbiev’s promoter, Bob Arum, fans may have to wait until Riyadh Season starts again next October to see them run it back.
