Tyson Fury has put the trash talk to one side in his latest social media post.
Fury is renowned for his larger-than-life character, his trash talk and his ability to wind up opponents often with outlandish comments and petty nicknames.
He has got inside the head of men he has fought before, most famously Wladimir Klitschko back in 2015, who he beat to win his first world titles.
But now he has taken to Instagram to send a message to Deontay Wilder, who he knocked out twice and drew with once, in light of the American once again accusing him of ‘cheating’ during their thrilling trilogy.
“I’m just sat here thinking about all the stuff Deontay Wilder’s been saying, recently. And even me, I got sort of dragged into posting stuff, video of me knocking him out and whatever. I’ve just deleted it, actually, off me story, because rather than retaliating and hate on somebody, this man really does have mental health issues, it’s evident to see.
“And rather than just go back and forward with him and yada, yada, yada, saying he’s deluded and all that, I’m just gonna pray for him, and I’m gonna ask god to help him. He obviously needs the help. I’m not getting involved in pettiness. The fights were won fair and square. And that’s it. I’m gonna pray for him, and I’m gonna ask the Father to bring him back, back to the light, cause this man is lost. lost soul, and I beg Jesus to return him to the kingdom.”
Fury has been out of the ring for more than a year but returns in April against Arslanbek Makmuhdov, while Wilder is also coming off a long lay off and is set to face Derek Chisora in the same month.
