Tyson Fury retired from boxing with a short announcement on social media back in January.
It came rather out of the blue, just a few weeks after his second loss to Oleksandr Usyk, That was a unified world title shot as he attempted to overturn a loss to the same man back in May 2024. That saw him lose his WBC belt and fail to become undisputed after he was beaten over 12 rounds.
It had been hoped that Fury would step into the ring with Joshua, who is in a similar position that he twice lost to Usyk, had no belt, and is coming to the end of his career.
Instead, ‘The Gypsy King’ decided to step away from the sport, though some still hope it is a negotiating tactic for the AJ fight.
Speaking to Podlounge, current IBF heavyweight world champion Dubois said he would happily offer Fury a shot at his title if he decides to return to the ring.
“Sure, put my name up first, I’m ready. If Fury came back I’d love to get in there in the mix with these guys, get in that title mix with all the big boys.”
Right now, Dubois is in the middle of organising his next fight. His IBF mandatory has been named as Derek Chisora, who has just one fight left and has earned his shot with recent wins over Joe Joyce and Otto Wallin. However, Dubois is more keen to get a shot at undisputed against Usyk or face Joseph Parker after pulling out of their scheduled fight earlier this year due to illness.
