Tyson Fury‘s has watched his half-brother Tommy fight Jake Paul in the past and has now made it clear who he is supporting in the American’s upcoming fight with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

Tommy fought Paul back in 2023. It was a scrappy affair which saw the Brit suffer the sole knockdown in eight rounds, but he still managed to go on to win on points and hand Paul his first and only loss inside the squared circle.

Since then, Paul has beaten a number of former fighters and ageing MMA stars, as well as Mike Tyson in a controversial bout back in November.

39-year-old Mexican Chavez Jr is the son of the legendary Julio Cesar Chavez. Despite being a former world champion, he has had a mixed career that has seen him lose to the likes of Anderson Silva, Canelo Alvarez, Andrezj Fonfara and Sergio Martínez. There are and always have been questions over Chavez Jr’s dedication, and he has had issues outside of the ropes.

In a new post shared on X, ‘The Gypsy King’ wished good luck to the Mexican and his coach ahead of the fight on Saturday.

“Get up there, viva Mexico! All the best boys, I hope the training has gone well, and I hope Chavez is doing good. Can’t do any more than train your b******s off in the gym and put the work in and go in there and get the job done. Man’s a former WBC middleweight world champion, son of a legend, so he can do his best, that it, do your best, put on a show, go in there and get paid and get put of there, that’s what I say. All the best, good luck.”

The fight takes place at the Honda Centre in Anaheim, California, this Saturday. Despite the backing of a two-time heavyweight champion, the majority of big voices in the sport are predicting Paul scores his twelfth win.

A rematch with Tommy Fury remains a good option for Paul if he wins.
