Tyson Fury has no doubt what would happen were Anthony Joshua to rematch Daniel Dubois.

‘The Gypsy King’ is a long-time rival of Joshua’s and it was hoped that the two giants of the modern game would come to blows sometime this year. However, following his back-to-back losses to Oleksandr Usyk in 2024, former two-time WBC champion Fury announced in January that he is retiring from the sport.

Joshua also lost in his last fight against Dubois. In getting stopped inside five rounds he fell short of his aim to become a three-time world champion. Rather than taking an immediate rematch, he has taken time out and Dubois has moved on to a second defence of his belt, this time on February 22 against Joseph Parker.

Fury predicted that Joshua wouldn’t take the rematch as far back as October. He accused Joshua of a lack of respect for Dubois.

“People thought it was the Anthony Joshua show. He’s going to fight this world champion and knock him over and nobody was respecting Dubois. It shouldn’t be like this. I said why don’t you put some respect on that world champion’s name. Karma is a b***h it really is.”

He was then asked by The Stomping Ground about whether Joshua had any chance in a rematch with ‘DDD’ and simply said:

“No.”

Fury went on to doubt Joshua’s desire to ever step in the ring with Dubois again.

“I don’t think he can [win a rematch]. I don’t think he’ll take a rematch.”

Right now Joshua has no fight scheduled but he could be targeting the winner of the IBF title fight between Dubois and Parker fight as a way back to the top.
