Tyson Fury Reveals Why He Will ‘Never’ Fight Daniel Dubois For His Belt

Tyson Fury will not be fighting for all four world titles when he rematches Oleksandr Usyk in December.

Although the first clash between the two heavyweight stars was for undisputed honours back in May, the IBF had to be vacated by Usyk in order to honour the rematch as that particular sanctioning body had ordered him to face his mandatory instead.

It was Daniel Dubois who benefitted from that and was elevated to full IBF champion following his impressive stoppage win over Filip Hrgovic in June.

In September, he defended the belt for the first time against two-time former champion Anthony Joshua and did so in impressive fashion, knocking his man down multiple times before stopping him via knockout in the fifth round.

Fury has now told iFL TV why he will never face his Queensberry stablemate for that particular belt.

“I’ll beat Daniel Dubois but I won’t be boxing him for his belt. I’d rather box him for the British title than the IBF. I don’t want anything to do with it. You couldn’t give it to me as a present. I’d probably get it and put it on YouTube and burn it.”

He further laid into the IBF who have dropped Fury out of their Top 15, saying he will ‘never’ fight for that title again.

“They’re a biased company that don’t like ‘The Gypsy King’ for whatever reason. I’m not sure, but it doesn’t add up. It doesn’t join together.

“I’ve just lost to some people say the best pound-for-pound person in the world. I’m not in the top 15 of their ratings but I’ve just boxed for their belt. Does that make any sense? It doesn’t does it? I’m not just making it up. It’s truth, it’s facts.

“If they’re not biased then, if they do like me, why don’t they just come out and say why I’m not in their ratings. I’m not good enough to be in the top 15? I’ve just lost to the best boxer in the world by a point, but I’m not in the top 15. It’s very odd and I will never be giving them an opportunity again, ever, and I’d advise anybody never to fight for their belt again.”

Meanwhile, Joshua has called for a rematch with Dubois and the IBF have said it must happen by April next year, although Fury doesn’t think that fight will ever happen.
