Tyson Fury has shared his view on a potential Oleksandr Usyk vs. Fabio Wardley showdown.

Wardley secured an upset win on Saturday as he stopped Joseph Parker in the 11th round of their bout at The O2 Arena in London to become the frontrunner to face undisputed heavyweight champion Usyk next year.

Parker was in control for the majority of the bout, but as Wardley has proven over his career, he remains dangerous until the very last bell, as he earned the stoppage win in the penultimate round, although some believe it may have been premature.

Nonetheless, a bout against Usyk could now be on the horizon, and former world champion Fury has revealed his thoughts on the match-up having experienced first hand what it is like to face the Ukrainian, losing on two occasions in 2024.

Speaking to Boxing King Media, Fury described Usyk as special, but admitted that Wardley is capable of knocking out anybody if he lands clean.

“Usyk is a special talent. He’s a good boxer but Fabio is a dangerous puncher, I’m sure if he hits anybody he’ll knock them out. He’s very strong and carries his power for a long time so he did really well against Parker.

“Everyone was saying before this Parker fight that Wardley has had no amateur experience, it means s**t amateur experience. George Foreman had 11 amateur fights and won the gold medal, it doesn’t mean anything. You’re a big strong man, a big game man, so congratulations to him and his team.”

Another man linked to a fight against Usyk is fellow Brit Moses Itauma, and he has given his take on Wardley’s win over Parker.
