Tyson Fury retired in January of this year following back-to-back losses to Oleksandr Usyk.

Frustrated by not getting the nod in either of his twelve-round contests with the elite Ukrainian, ‘The Gypsy King’ posted a short video to say he was hanging up the gloves.

“Hi everybody, I’m going to make this short and sweet. I’d like to announce my retirement from boxing, it has been a blast, I’ve loved every single minute of it and I’m going to end with this; Dick Turpin wore a mask.”

It is not the first time Fury has retired, not even the second, only to return to the ring with a bang. Many in the sport believe that will be the case again and he will deliver on a long-awaited heavyweight clash with fellow former champion Anthony Joshua.

In a new video post on social media, Fury dropped the biggest hint yet that he will be reversing his retirement decision, revealing that he was back training with coach SugarHill Steward.

“Just in the gym, happened to bump into somebody you might know… We’re back. You know what’s coming.”

While the Morecambe man enjoys mind games and wind-ups, many will treat the clip on the surface and believe his comeback to be as good as confirmed, however fans should remain wary. Those close to Fury have, when speaking about his fighting future, insisted that they have not been discussing boxing, just life and retirement in general.

Should he return, there seems to be no fight that comes close to the magnitude of matching up with ‘AJ.’
