Tyson Fury is a man on a mission heading into the rematch with Oleksandr Usyk.
Fury missed out on the chance to become undisputed heavyweight champion in May when he suffered a split decision defeat to Usyk in Saudi Arabia.
It was a tight contest, with round nine the clearest of all, when Usyk had Fury in serious trouble and was on the verge of getting the stoppage if it had not been for a standing eight count from the referee.
The judges scored the bout 115-112 Usyk, 114-113 Fury and 114-113 Usyk, as the Ukrainian walked away with the IBF, WBA, WBO and WBC titles.
Fury has now revealed how he scored the bout and told Undisputed YouTube Channel that he disagreed entirely with the verdict, giving his opponent just three rounds in total, but with the ninth being 10-8.
“I thought I won the fight last time. Me boxing all my life and watching boxing my whole career, I gave him rounds 8, 9 and 10, and round 9 was a 10-8, that’s what I gave him out of the fight.
Obviously the judges saw it differently, a couple of them did, one of them had me winning, that’s what it was. It was as close as it can be. I didn’t get the nod on the night but I’ll make it right next time.”
With that in mind, Fury has revealed he doesn’t intend to leave it up to the judges in the rematch.
“It’s no secret I’m going in there to knock him out. I don’t think I’ll get a decision no matter what I do. I’m not going to get a boxing decision.
I’m going to have to take it out of the judges hands like I did in America that time and I’ve got to get him out of there. Hand on heart I believe I have to get him out of there to see victory.”
Fury and Usyk meet in their rematch on December 21 in Saudi Arabia, but ‘The Gypsy King’ has revealed he already knows who he’ll be facing after that bout.
