Tyson Fury Rules Out Fighting Anthony Joshua Next And Names Who He Will Face After Usyk

Any hopes of seeing Tyson Fury take on Anthony Joshua next may have just been ruled out.

The all-British blockbuster fight isn’t as big as it once could have been due to Fury and Joshua both recently suffering defeats, but it would still be a huge affair.

‘The Gypsy King’ was last in action in May when he suffered the first loss of his professional career, coming up short via split decision to Oleksandr Usyk in his undisputed title contest.

It was a closely fought contest, but a big round nine for Usyk where he scored a knockdown proved to be the difference, as he added the WBC belt to his collection.

Usyk had to relinquish the IBF strap in the aftermath as the contractual rematch with Fury meant he couldn’t face the mandatory, which allowed Daniel Dubois to defeat Filip Hrgovic and then be elevated to full champion.

Dubois fought Joshua at Wembley Stadium in September, and picked up a monumental win, dropping ‘AJ’ multiple times on his way to a fifth round knockout win.

When asked by Seconds Out what he thought about Dubois’ victory, Fury was full of praise for ‘DDD’.

“I think it was fantastic, I thought he did a fantastic job.”

Fans are still keen to see the fight between Fury and Joshua despite their recent losses, and AJ’s promoter Eddie Hearn has stated that his man will either go into the Dubois rematch next or face ‘The Gypsy King’.

However, when asked by Seconds Out if he’ll be looking to face AJ after Usyk, Fury was adamant that a trilogy against the Ukrainian would be next.

“Usyk again. Usyk again.”

Fury and Usyk meet again on December 21, and it is clear that the former champion expects to win to then set up a third fight with the current champion.
