Mike Tyson Delivers Honest Verdict On Jake Paul’s Power As Gervonta Davis Fight Announced

Mike Tyson has summed up the punching power of Jake Paul ahead of his former rival’s showdown with Gervonta Davis.

Former undisputed heavyweight champion Tyson made a sensational return to the ring when he faced Paul last November, suffering a unanimous decision defeat to the YouTuber-turned-boxer at the AT&T Stadium in Texas.

It was announced earlier this week that Paul would return to the ring against ‘Tank’ Davis later this year, facing the reigning WBA lightweight champion on Friday November 14 at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.

‘The Problem Child’ has received criticism for making a fight with Davis, a man who stands at eight inches shorter than him and weighed in at more than 60 pounds lighter than him when he faced Lamont Roach earlier this year.

In an interview with FOX Sports, Tyson admitted that whilst he doesn’t have a great memory of Paul’s power, he does recall feeling the effects of the 28-year-old’s punches on his body after their fight last November.

“I don’t remember it, but my body, my chest, stomach and stuff was really sore … Jake punches hard. My body hurt so bad.”

Paul has won all but one of his 13 professional bouts since making his debut back in 2020, racking up seven stoppage victories along the way over the likes of Mike Perry, Tyron Woodley and Ben Askren.

The 28-year-old from Cleveland made his most recent ring appearance against Mexico’s former WBC world middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr on June 28, defeating the 39-year-old via unanimous decision at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.

He now turns his attention to Davis, a man who has knocked out fighters such as Ryan Garcia, Rolly Romero and Mario Barrios in his career to date.
