Heavyweight great Mike Tyson has revealed exactly when and where he will be facing Floyd Mayweather.
Tyson announced earlier this year that he would be clashing with the retired five-weight world champion in an exhibition clash at some stage in 2026.
The 59-year-old from New York made a sensational return to the sport in November 2024 although he was beaten by YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul at the conclusion of their eight round heavyweight bout in Texas.
As for Mayweather, the former pound-for-pound superstar has not fought as a professional since he faced MMA fighter Conor McGregor over eight years ago, but he has participated in a number of exhibition contests since then.
As revealed in a clip shared by O’Combat Sports, ‘Iron Mike’ confirmed that he would be facing Mayweather in a ‘record breaking’ bout next March, as he claims their exhibition clash will take place at an undisclosed venue in Africa.
“It’s going to be in March and it’s going to be in Africa. This is going to be incredible, we’re going to break all the records. It’s going to be one of the biggest events [in boxing].”
Tyson had been urged to retire again after his loss to Paul, but the former undisputed heavyweight champion has vowed to keep fighting despite approaching his 60th birthday.
‘Money’ Mayweather’s latest ring appearance came in August 2024 when he faced John Gotti III for the second time in an unscored exhibition clash at the Mexico City Arena.
