Mike Tyson was one of the hardest punchers in heavyweight history.

He knocked out his first 19 opponents, 12 of them coming in the opening round, with that ferocious power being one of the reasons why he was dubbed ‘The Baddest Man On The Planet.’

A lot has changed in the last three decades though, as Tyson is now 58-years-old and heading into a fight that has caused controversy within boxing.

He faces Jake Paul this Friday over eight two-minute rounds in an event streamed live on Netflix, in what will be Tyson’s first professional fight since 2005.

‘Iron Mike’ has done his best to hit back at the doubters that say he is too old, with recent training footage showing him dropping one of his sparring partners and busting the lip of his coach.

Unbeaten heavyweight Jett Blackwell is one of the men that has been sparring Tyson in the build-up, and he told The J Roos Theory just how sparring went and whether the boxing legend still has what it takes to knock out Paul.

“It was pretty aggressive sparring. It wasn’t real light. All he knows how to do is hit hard. Thats just how he is. It was real intense, for the first couple rounds especially. He was hitting hard.

“No matter the age he’s still Mike Tyson. He just has to be patient and know he’ll land the shots. If he lands them he’ll do damage. He still has it.”

All will be revealed when Tyson faces Paul later this week, and boxing legend Larry Holmes has given a defiant prediction for the bout.
