Heavyweight great Mike Tyson believes Jaron Ennis should be pursuing a clash with one fighter in particular.
Ennis has had an outstanding career so far, where he remains unbeaten since making his debut back in April of 2016.
The 28-year-old from Philadelphia previously held the unified WBA and IBF welterweight titles, a feat he accomplished last April when he stopped Eimantas Stanionis in the sixth round of their clash in Atlantic City.
‘Boots’ made the move up to 154lbs a few months later as he stopped Portugal’s Uisma Lima in the opening round of their showdown to capture the vacant WBA interim super-welterweight title in his hometown.
Speaking to Hard Rock Bet, former undisputed heavyweight champion Tyson shared his thoughts on who he believes ‘Boots’ should be looking at facing next as he claims he wants to see Ennis ‘be tested’.
I want to see Boots take a test. Charlo, one of those guys. The Charlo brothers, he went up to 154 pounds. Let him challenge one of those guys. I want to see him be tested.”
Jermell Charlo has made it clear that he is willing to return and face Ennis.
The former undisputed champion would be dropping back down to 154lbs following a loss to Canelo Alvarez at super-middleweight almost three years ago, his last activity and the main reason that he would step through the ropes a big underdog against Ennis.
