Heavyweight icon Mike Tyson has shared his insight into the punching power of Jake Paul ahead of the controversial match-up between ‘The Problem Child’ and Gervonta Davis.
Tyson made a sensational return to the sport last November after a near 20-year hiatus, suffering a unanimous decision defeat to Paul at the conclusion of their controversial eight round heavyweight match-up at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Paul is now set to make his second ring appearance in 2025 next month as he gears up to face reigning WBA lightweight champion ‘Tank’ Davis in a ten round exhibition clash at the Kaseya Center in Miami on November 14.
Having shared the ring with Paul, ‘Iron Mike’ revealed a shock verdict, saying that he ‘barely remembers’ his controversial showdown with Paul.
“I don’t remember the fight that much, I kind of blanked out a little. Listen, you know what I remember? Coming back from the first round then the next thing I remember Jake was doing some kind of [bowing], that’s the last thing I remember.”
Tyson was then asked to sum up the punching power of ‘The Problem Child’, as he reveals how sore his body was the following day.
“I don’t remember it but my body was really sore, yeah my body, my chest, my stomach and stuff was really sore.”
Paul has received criticism for opting to face Davis next, especially considering the unbeaten 30-year-old stands at eight inches shorter than him, and weighed in at over 60 pounds lighter than ‘The Problem Child’ ahead of his March showdown with Lamont Roach Jr.
