Undefeated Star Vows To Be First Man To Beat ‘Midget’ Gervonta Davis: “It’s The Perfect Fight”

Gervonta Davis might be the best lightweight in the world but that doesn’t stop his name being called out by a wide range of challengers.

Davis is a former super-featherweight and super-lightweight world champion who currently holds the WBA lightweight title and has since 2023.

He is known for his explosive power and undefeated record having beaten the likes of Leo Santa Cruz, Ryan Garcia and Frank Martin, all by stoppage. He has fought rather sporadically in recent times with just three contests in over three years since he beat Rolando Romero in June 2022.

One man who could be a future Davis opponent is #3 IBF, #3 WBC, and #3 WBO ranked lightweight Keyshawn Davis, an Olympic Silver medalist and now 11-0 professional whose best win to date came by stoppage against José Pedraza in February.

Speaking to Sean Zettel, 25-year-old Davis explained why he thinks he has the beating of ‘Tank.’

“I do different sh*t with different opponents. Literally. No cap. Same way he do different sh*t with different opponents. He’s a 5’5” midget and I know what I can do. I’ve got IQ. I’ve been all around the world. I’ve seen it all.

I’ve seen him. I’ve been in the ring with him a couple of times. I know what I can do. I know what God blessed me with. It always turns out a great fight when people got you as the underdog. The underdogs don’t always come up short. I feel I’m the perfect underdog for him.”

Fans were rather underwhelmed when Baltimore banger Davis announced that he is next out in December defending his titles against Lamont Roach after talks to face Lasiliy Lomachenko collapsed earlier in the year.
