Two Undefeated ‘Monsters’ Who Both Have Over 90% KO Ratios Are ‘Definitely’ Fighting Each Other

Two of boxing’s biggest stars appear to be on a collision course for a ‘mega-fight’ at some point in the future.

After it was announced earlier this month that unified WBA and IBF world welterweight champion Jaron Ennis would be making the move up to 154lbs, the unbeaten American has been tipped to face just one man in particular.

‘Boots’ remains unbeaten as a professional since his debut back in 2016, defeating each of the 34 opponents he has faced including wins over Sergey Lipinets, David Avanesyan and Eimantas Stanionis and has racked up a 90% knockout ratio whilst doing so.

He unified the WBA and IBF titles at 147lbs with that victory over Stanionis earlier this year, which would appear to be his final bout at welterweight after he confirmed that he would be jumping up to 154lbs next, claiming he will be a ‘monster’ at the new weight.

In an interview with YSM Sports Media, ‘Boots’ said a showdown with reigning WBC ‘interim’ light-middleweight champion Vergil Ortiz Jr will ‘definitely’ now happen.

“Most definitely. That’s a fight that definitely got to happen, you know that’s the fight everybody wants to see, I’m at 154 now so it got to happen, it got to happen, that fight’s gonna make a lot of money, we’re gonna sell-out no matter where it’s at, everybody wants to see it so I definitely think that fight’s gonna happen for sure.”

Ortiz has emerged as one of the sport’s brightest stars in recent years, remaining unbeaten through 23 outings, 21 coming by knockout, since he entered the professional ranks 9-years-ago.

The 27-year-old from Texas returned to the ring on February 22, defeating former WBA light-middleweight champion Israil Madrimov over 12 competitive rounds in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
