One of the best middleweights on the planet has had his say on the upcoming grudge match between Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn.
The domestic rivals are set to lock horns in their highly-anticipated middleweight showdown on April 26 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, England.
They had been due to face each other back in October 2022 until Benn had returned a positive result in a drugs test that emerged during the week of the original fight date.
‘The Destroyer’ had subsequently relinquished his British Boxing License, but was never officially punished by any governing body after testing positive for Clomifine.
It was revealed at the beginning of the year that Eubank and Benn would finally get to settle their differences on April 26, reigniting a feud between their respective families which dates back over 30 years, after their fathers had locked horns on two occasions during the 90s.
Speaking to Seconds Out, unified WBO and IBF middleweight champion Janibek Alimkhanuly weighed in on the domestic battle between Eubank and Benn, as he reveals he ‘has some trust’ in ‘The Destroyer’ to get the job done.
“In [Conor] Benn I have some trust and I have some expectations. His performances and style is good.”
Kazakh star Janibek has had an impressive professional career to date, where he remains unbeaten throughout his 16 professional outings.
He added the IBF world middleweight title to his WBO crown with a sixth round knockout victory over Vincenzo Gualtieri back in October 2023 and has made two successful defences since then, defeating Andrei Mikhailovich and Anauel Ngamissengue respectively.
