Oleksandr Usyk is one of the best pound-for-pound fighters on the planet.
He began his career at cruiserweight, where he defeated fighters such as Mairis Briedis, Tony Bellew, Murat Gassiev, Marco Huck and Michael Hunter to become undisputed at 200lbs.
He then moved up to heavyweight, beginning with victories over Chazz Witherspoon and Derek Chisora, which set him up for a world heavyweight title shot against Anthony Joshua.
Usyk was victorious against Joshua to win the IBF, WBA and WBO belts, before he successfully defended the belts in a rematch against AJ. He then made another defence against Daniel Dubois, setting up an undisputed showdown against Tyson Fury.
Usyk dropped Fury on his way to a split decision victory, adding the WBC title to his collection and becoming the first man since Evander Holyfield to be undisputed at both cruiserweight and heavyweight.
Having shared the ring with some huge names, Usyk has now responded to DAZN when asked if Fury is the best fighter he’s ever faced.
“I think yes. Much respect for all my opponents. Boxing is a tough sport, a very dangerous sport. This man [Fury] is very famous [around the] world. A big man, I am a small man.
“We have a second fight. Boxing is not play, it’s a hard sport, tough. When you’re back home after the fight, my body taught me: ‘Hey Alex, please [don’t do this again].’ I said [no].”
Fury and Usyk meet again in a highly-anticipated rematch on December 21, and Holyfield has given his prediction for the showdown.
