Many people would now consider Oleksandr Usyk to be the best active fighter in the world.

In just 23 fights, the Ukrainian has beaten all comers to pick up the undisputed cruiserweight title and then the undisputed heavyweight crown. Only Evander Holyfield has accomplished that feat and, along the way, Usyk has beaten the likes of Mairis Breidis, Derek Chisora, former champion Anthony Joshua twice, current IBF belt holder Daniel Dubois and former WBC king Tyson Fury, also twice.

Speaking TNT Sports Boxing ahead of his second victory over ‘The Gypsy King’ back in December, the former Olympic gold medalist was asked about the best fighter in the US and the best fighter in the world, and to both questions he answered with the same name.

“Terence Crawford.”

Switch-hitting star Crawford is a former undisputed lightweight and undisputed welterweight champion who remains undefeated in the professional ring. He has beaten the likes of Shawn Porter and Errol Spence Jr in standout fights and most recently moved up to the 154 lbs division to claim a title there at the first time of asking.

He has long been linked with a super fight with Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez and reports have suggested Saudi Arabia’s Turki Alalshikh wants the fight to happen in Las Vegas at the T-Mobile Arena.

Despite the weight difference between the two, many people pick him to win that fight given his athleticism and ring IQ, while current and younger welterweight champion Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis has also long been keen on a battle with ‘Bud.’
