Oleksandr Usyk has shared his thoughts on whether he believes Terence Crawford is a better fighter than him overall.

Both Usyk and Crawford have established themselves as two of the greatest fighters of their era over the last several years, becoming two of the few fighters in boxing history to win an undisputed championship in multiple weight classes.

Nebraska’s ‘Bud’ Crawford became the first male fighter in the sport’s history to capture an undisputed crown in three separate divisions, a feat he achieved back in September when he defeated Mexican icon Canelo Alvarez.

As for Usyk, the Ukrainian superstar became just the second fighter ever to win the undisputed championship at both cruiserweight and heavyweight. The 38-year-old captured all four major heavyweight titles for the second time back in July when he stopped Daniel Dubois in the fifth round of their Wembley Stadium clash.

With many fans and analysts constantly debating who they believe to be the best fighter in the world, Usyk himself has now had his say, whilst speaking to Froch On Fighting.

“I think it’s Terence Crawford.”

Usyk was then asked if he believes he actually deserves to be considered the best fighter in the world ahead of Crawford.

“Oh no, I’m not the best fighter in the world, that is Terence Crawford.”

Crawford is expected to take a period of time away from the sport before he makes a decision on his future, with some speculating whether he may decide to retire.

Usyk on the other hand is expected to make his return to the ring during the early stages of 2026, with rumours circulating that he could defend his undisputed heavyweight championship against Britain’s Fabio Wardley next.
